A Christmas Message

It’s been quite a year here at Poetry Spotlight. When I launched the website back in January I had no idea whether I’d be able to get any poets to participate, let alone the calibre of poets who have since graced its pages.

I’ve been bowled over by the munificence of the UK poetry scene and want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the poets and publishers who have given their time and energy to the project, and to the readers of the website for their continuing support.

Poetry Spotlight is now going into hibernation over the winter months but will hopefully return in 2017.

In the meantime, I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and New Year!

Poetry Spotlight is taking the briefest of holidays to step away from the computer, venture outside, and enjoy a little sunshine.

A huge thank you to all of the poets who have contributed to the series so far, from the first featured poet Martin Figura way back in January right through to the latest interview with Mark Waldron published yesterday.

There are now forty five articles listed on the website, so you might want to take this opportunity to have a look through the archive and catch up with anything you may have missed…

And, if you’re so inclined, you can make it even easier to keep up with the growing list of poets by subscribing to the free newsletter.

Or if you’re the tweeting type, follow Poetry Spotlight on Twitter HERE.

There’s plenty more good stuff to come later this month – Rebecca Goss, Vidyan Ravinthiran, Katrina Naomi, Vahni Capildeo – and things will kick off again on Saturday 16th July with Andy Jackson.

See you soon and hope you have a great summer!

Hello (poetry) world!

And so it begins. This is the first (of hopefully many to follow) posts on a brand spanking new poetry website.

Much like Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, I have gone with the ‘Build it and they will come’ mantra and put up the site before I’ve actually secured any content…

Here’s hoping things go to plan!
